Rev. Anita Spiller
Rev. Anita Spiller was Ordained in May of 2015 and began her first pastoral charge with Jordan Station United Church on August 1st. Anita considers herself to be a tent maker like Paul. Paul would preach to the Jews on the Sabbath in the synagogue, and during the week he worked as a tent maker talking to the merchants and travelers. This context gave Paul the opportunity to minister and serve those in his community and to work at his craft. Anita does the same as she ministers to the community in Jordan 20 hours a week and runs a sales & public relations firm, specializing in travel and tourism the rest of the time. Bi-vocational ministry is her true calling. It is the two together that feed her and each other. Her business gives relevance and perspective to her ministry and her ministry fosters her business, staff and clients.
Rev. Anita has a strong call towards mission work and is always looking for ways to inspire people to be church in the world and not just within our church walls. Anita also has a dedication to providing creative and inspiring worship. She loves children and has a strong track record in Christian Education.
Rev. Anita is married to Pete Spiller and together they have four children. Andrew who is 26 and is a member of the US Coast Guard, Greg who is 20 attends Brock University, Katelyn who is 17 and attends grade 12 at Nelson High School in Burlington and Anna who is 17 and attends grade 12 in Longwood, Florida.

Joyce Brown, Organist, Pianist, Praise & Choir Leader
Joyce was born and raised on a fruit farm on Green Lane in Beamsville. She was an elementary school teacher for 35 years up until her well deserved retirement in 1996.
Joyce started playing the organ at St. Alban’s Anglican Church at the age of 15 and as well at Vineland United Church some years later. She then became the Music Director at Trinity United Church – which lasted for 23½ years – retiring in 2010.
When Jordan Station United Church was looking for an organist in 2013, Joyce took the position assuming she’d just help out for a couple of months but . . . “the congregation here has been so welcoming and affirming, and I felt so fortunate to be helping to lead in Worship here.”
Currently Joyce also has a choir at Heritage Village, comprised of 24 people of all ages and talents. “We enjoy performing for the Heritage Village community and for local retirement residences.”
Joyce also loves the “Ukuladies” group which was founded by Rev. Anita in 2016. On occasion they perform at Jordan Station United Church and locally in the community.
Joyce and her husband Al celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in August 2018. They are blessed with 3 married children and 7 grandchildren!
